Following engagement with As You Sow and other investors, General Mills has published new information outlining strategies for reducing pesticide use in its agricultural supply chains. 

U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro introduced Friday the Keep Food Safe from Glyphosate Act. The bill aims to protect consumers from the health effects of exposure to glyphosate, the main ingredient in Roundup and other herbicides very commonly used in modern agriculture and landscaping.

Earlier this week, major global food company General Mills announced a new commitment to advance regenerative agriculture on 1 million acres of farmland by 2030.

A pesticide-related shareholder resolution filed with General Mills, by corporate responsibility group As You Sow, received a vote of support from approximately 31% of investors at the company’s annual general meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Tuesday.
